Last year, we were not able to accept about 50 applications.

We review application forms thoroughly and announce the results on our website.

Please make sure to read the notice below and the booth registration guidelines and fill out your application with care.

We look forward to having your diverse, colorful booths at the Seoul Queer Parade and Seoul Pink Dot.

(We evaluate each application based on its accordance with the spirit of the SQCF and its realizability.)

※ Notice of booth registration

1. In past surveys of Seoul Queer Parade participants, some pointed out that booth programs lacked variety, focusing only on sponsorship items without many activities that participants could engage in. Therefore, we ask that you propose booth programs that participants can take part in and enjoy.

Your application will be evaluated based on the booth programs you have planned, so please be as specific as possible in your description.

(We will be monitoring booth operations on the day of the event. Please consider the feasibility of your booth programs when writing your application.)

2. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at booth events.

3. You should have at least one Korean speaker who can overlook the entire process from booth application to on-site booth operation. Also, on the day of the event, you must have at least two people who will stay at your booth and can be reached at all times. Please put in their contact information in your application.

4. Even if accepted teams cancel, no additional applications will be considered to make up for cancelled booths. Please apply responsibly.

5. From this year, we do not permit rejected applicants to apply for a joint booth operation with accepted applicants. We give preference to joint booth operators; please apply for joint booth operation in your initial application to be reviewed favorably.

※ In case of a joint booth operation by two or more teams, the teams involved may split the booth fees among themselves.

6. It is your responsibility to ensure that other booths are not inconvenienced if your booth attracts a large crowd and causes congestion. If not, your booth program may be cut short for safety reasons.

• We limit the use of electricity per booth to a maximum of 1kw/h.

• The use of motorized equipment is prohibited. The use of electricity for purposes not directly related to running the booth (e.g. charging cellphones, using fans) is also prohibited due to safety reasons.

• Teams using electricity must bring their own power cable with a cross section greater than 1.25SQ(mm2).

※ In 2016, one booth exceeded the notified electricity usage limit, causing a short circuit that resulted in an actual fire. Due to safety reasons, we strictly prohibit the use of unregistered electrical equipment and the use of electricity greater than the specified limit.

In one of the following cases, please take especial care to consult the Seoul Queer Culture Festival Organizing Committee(contact: Ki-Hun Hong; will stay full-time at the stage operations booth) beforehand.

1) Regarding wiring

• When you plan to draw electricity from the stage operations booth to your team’s booth

2) Regarding the limit on electricity

• Using electricity from a booth that is not yours or exceeding the limit on electricity use per booth may jeopardize stage operations and cause the power to disconnect.

Even if your program ends or items run out, you must remain at your booth until the end of the event.

2) Please take all your signs, leaflets, clothes, decorations, etc. with you.

3) Please discard all trash in the trash bins placed on site. (Make sure to sort your trash by type into appropriate recycle bins, and to empty the contents of takeout cups before throwing them away.)

4) Please fold the table and place it on the floor. Turn the chairs upside down and place them on the table. In case of damage, the team must provide compensation.

7. Penalties issued before and after the event

1) If a team cancels their booth before the event, the team will be barred from applying the following year. (No cancellation or refund will be available 30 days before the event.) In addition, no additional applications will be considered to make up for cancelled booths.

2) If your booth operations are different from what was described in your application, your team will receive a penalty in next year’s booth selection process. Members of the organizing committee and volunteers will monitor booth operations on the day of the event. (If your team informs the committee of the changes before the event, no penalty will be applied.)

3) Any trash left at your booth will result in a penalty in next year’s booth selection process.

4) Failure to comply to any regulations set forth in the Booth Participation Guidelines will result in a penalty in future booth applications.

Please note that the organizing committee will monitor booth operations from when booth events commence at 11am.

8. Preference to joint operation applicants

From 2018, we do not permit rejected applicants to apply for a joint booth operation with accepted applicants. We give preference to joint booth operators; please apply for joint booth operation in your initial application to be reviewed favorably.

9. If your booth program (e.g. an installation outside of your booth), not authorized in advance by the organizing committee, obstructs the passageway or interferes with other events, the program may be cut short due to the safety reasons.

FAQ

Q. Is parking available on the day of the event?

A. Parking will not be available. Please use public transportation.

Q. How should I clean up the trash at my booth?

A. Please take all items you brought for your booth (e.g. X-banner stands, picket signs, group banners, costumes and props, clothing, packaging supplies, leaflets, souvenirs, etc.) back with you.

Please discard all other trash in the trash bins placed on site. Make sure to sort your trash by type into appropriate recycle bins, and to empty the contents of takeout cups before throwing them away.

Q. Our team would like to run my booth alongside another team. How can I do this?

A. Booth locations cannot be determined by the participating team. We locate booths with each team’s programs and electricity usage taken into account. If your team wishes to operate your booth side by side with another team, please mention the fact in your application and we will put it into consideration.

A. Please refer to "5. On the Use of Electricity". All use of electricity without prior authorization is prohibited due to safety reasons.

A. Booth installation will be finished by 10am on the day of the event; please be prepared to start your programs from 11 am.

Booths will be operated from 11am to 7pm. At least one person must be at the booth at all times until booth events end at 7pm.

Q. Do we have to stay at our booths even during the parade?

A. Yes. In order to prevent any theft or damage of items, at least one person who can speak Korean should stay to man the booth at all times from 11am to 7pm. Please note that the Organizing Committee is not responsible for any lost/stolen/damaged items and will claim compensation for tables and chairs.

Q. I sent inquiries to the parade team’s email. When can I expect a reply?

A. The Seoul Queer Parade Executive Committee are do not work full-time, and usually check emails after their day jobs are over. All inquiries regarding booth operations will be answered through 7pm to 9pm on business days.

If you have any further questions, please contact us through parade.kqcf@gmail.com.

Please bear in mind that booth-related inquiries will be first discussed within the booth team under the Seoul Queer Parade Executive Committee and will be brought to higher levels if necessary.
